[SARASOTA, Fla. December 18, 2017] – The Sarasota Family YMCA is pleased to announce the award of $100,000 from the Unrestricted Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation.  The Y will utilize the gift to fund 1.5 (positions) Early Childhood Court Community Coordinators in Circuit 12.  The Sarasota YMCA serves as the Lead Agency for Community Based Care in three counties – Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto. The Safe Children Coalition (SCC) is a collaboration between the Y and local community entities who together provide a continuum of child welfare services for dependent children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned.

This generous support will help the Y continue to further its mission to “build strong kids, strong families, strong communities,” by fostering lasting personal and social change for needy youth and families.
